Jutemaster is a 100% organic matting and is used predominantly to stabilise banks, suppress weeds and to promote the growth of vegetation.

This geotextile is available as both a fine or thick mat.

25.jpgSuitability

Jutemaster fine mat has been designed specifically to allow vegetation to grow through it, at the same time protecting the earth surface against rainfall erosion. Providing such protection allows the vegetation to establish a root system, which in turn stabilises the surface of the slope.

Jutemaster thick mat is thoroughly recommended as a weed barrier as it inhibits growth of unwanted broadleaf weed as well as most narrow leafed plants. It also protects against erosion while vegetation cover establishes.

Site Preparation

It is important to have an evenly graded surface so that both forms of Jutemaster can closely contour the soil surface.

Installation

Both forms of Jutemaster must be secured by means of pegs or pins. All edges of the matting are firmly anchored or keyed into spade deep trenches with pins.

Benefits

Jutemaster is extremely beneficial in offering immediate protection against erosion, while allowing vegetation cover to establish. Another advantage, unlike other geotextiles, it becomes very flexible when wet allowing it to take on a ground hugging quality. The easy-to-install Jutemaster also has the added advantage of being economical for developers and home owners to use in small areas.
