Fertilising

Attention: open in a new window. PDFPrint

Fertilising may be required if site conditions prevent the efficient establishment of vegetative cover.  Fertiliser can be supplied or spread using the appropriate technique for the site, such as the use of spinners, truck or tractor mounted to apply with water ie. to either apply dry fertiliser (fertigation) or hydro-fertilising.

Suitability

The suitability of different fertiliser spreading techniques is varied dependent upon required outcomes and access. Should access be constrained, fertigation or hydro-fertilising are commonly used.

Soil analysis / Amendments

Prior to the fertiliser application the physical and chemical character of the soil should be ascertained to determine the  fertiliser.  In many cases a broad spectrum fertiliser required of a mix designed specifically for the site to be as beneficial in amending soils as those varying fertilisers have been manufactured for Revegetation Contractors exclusive use, based on extensive experience in North Queensland and expertise of agronomists within the company.

Maintenance

Maintenance fertilising is particularly effective in developing a strong vegetation cover.
